Notification Settings
Control how and when you receive notifications from Ulka Chat. Customize notifications for conversations, mentions, system events, and more.
Notification Channels
Choose how you want to receive notifications across different channels.
In-App Notifications
Receive notifications within the Ulka Chat interface.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under In-App Notifications, toggle Enable In-App Notifications on or off
- Configure:
- Show Badge Count: Display unread conversation count
- Desktop Notifications: Show browser/desktop notifications
- Sound Alerts: Play sound for new notifications
- Click Save to apply changes
Email Notifications
Control email notification frequency and content.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Email Notifications, configure:
- Frequency:
- Real-time: Immediate emails
- Daily Digest: Summary once per day
- Weekly Digest: Summary once per week
- Never: No email notifications
- Include Content: Include message preview in emails
- Unread Reminders: Receive reminders for unread conversations
- Frequency:
- Click Save to apply changes
SMS Notifications
Receive SMS notifications for urgent matters (requires phone number verification).
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under SMS Notifications, toggle Enable SMS Notifications on or off
- Configure:
- Urgent Only: Only receive SMS for urgent/p escalated conversations
- After Hours: Receive SMS outside business hours
- When Offline: Receive SMS when you're marked as offline
- Click Save to apply changes
Note: SMS notifications may incur additional charges depending on your plan.
Push Notifications (Mobile)
Enable push notifications on mobile devices.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Push Notifications, toggle Enable Push Notifications on or off
- Configure:
- All Conversations: Receive push for all assigned conversations
- Urgent Only: Only receive push for urgent conversations
- When Away: Receive push when marked as away
- Allow push notifications in your browser/device settings
- Click Save to apply changes
Conversation Notifications
New Conversations
Configure notifications for new conversations assigned to you.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Conversation Notifications > New Conversations, configure:
- Notify Me: Toggle on/off
- Channels: Select notification channels (In-app, Email, SMS, Push)
- Include Details: Include customer name and message preview
- Click Save to apply changes
New Messages
Configure notifications for new messages in assigned conversations.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Conversation Notifications > New Messages, configure:
- Notify Me: Toggle on/off
- Only When Away: Only notify when you're marked as away
- Channels: Select notification channels
- Quiet Hours: Don't notify during specific hours
- Click Save to apply changes
Message Mentions
Get notified when you're mentioned in conversations.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Conversation Notifications > Mentions, configure:
- Notify Me: Toggle on/off (always recommended)
- Channels: Select notification channels
- Sound Alert: Special sound for mentions
- Click Save to apply changes
Conversation Assignments
Get notified when conversations are assigned or reassigned to you.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Conversation Notifications > Assignments, configure:
- Notify Me: Toggle on/off
- Channels: Select notification channels
- Click Save to apply changes
Customer Replies
Configure notifications when customers reply to conversations.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Conversation Notifications > Customer Replies, configure:
- Notify Me: Toggle on/off
- Only Unassigned: Only notify for conversations assigned to you
- Channels: Select notification channels
- Click Save to apply changes
Team Notifications
Direct Messages
Receive notifications for direct messages from team members.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Team Notifications > Direct Messages, configure:
- Notify Me: Toggle on/off
- Channels: Select notification channels
- Sound Alert: Special sound for direct messages
- Click Save to apply changes
Team Chat Mentions
Get notified when mentioned in team chat.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Team Notifications > Team Chat Mentions, configure:
- Notify Me: Toggle on/off
- Channels: Select notification channels
- Click Save to apply changes
Team Activity
Configure notifications for team-wide activities.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Team Notifications > Team Activity, configure:
- New Team Members: Notify when new members join
- Role Changes: Notify about role changes
- Team Announcements: Receive team announcements
- Click Save to apply changes
System Notifications
System Updates
Receive notifications about system updates and maintenance.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under System Notifications > System Updates, configure:
- Notify Me: Toggle on/off
- Maintenance Alerts: Get notified about scheduled maintenance
- Feature Updates: Receive updates about new features
- Click Save to apply changes
Security Alerts
Get notified about security-related events.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under System Notifications > Security Alerts, configure:
- Login Attempts: Notify about failed login attempts
- Password Changes: Notify when password is changed
- 2FA Changes: Notify when 2FA is enabled/disabled
- API Key Changes: Notify about API key creation/revocation
- Click Save to apply changes
Note: Security alerts are recommended to stay enabled.
Billing Notifications
Receive notifications about billing and subscription.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under System Notifications > Billing, configure:
- Invoice Ready: Notify when invoices are ready
- Payment Due: Notify about upcoming payment due dates
- Payment Failed: Notify if payment fails
- Plan Changes: Notify about subscription plan changes
- Click Save to apply changes
Quiet Hours
Set quiet hours when you don't want to receive notifications (except urgent matters).
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Quiet Hours, toggle Enable Quiet Hours on
- Configure:
- Start Time: When quiet hours begin
- End Time: When quiet hours end
- Days: Select days for quiet hours
- Override for Urgent: Still notify for urgent conversations
- Click Save to apply changes
During quiet hours, you won't receive non-urgent notifications.
Do Not Disturb
Temporarily disable all notifications.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Do Not Disturb, toggle Enable Do Not Disturb on
- Set duration:
- 1 hour
- 2 hours
- 4 hours
- Until tomorrow
- Until I turn it off
- Configure exceptions:
- Urgent Conversations: Still notify for urgent matters
- Direct Mentions: Still notify when directly mentioned
- Click Save to apply changes
Notification Preferences by Channel
Desktop/Browser Notifications
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Desktop Notifications, configure:
- Show Preview: Display message preview in notifications
- Notification Position: Where notifications appear on screen
- Auto-dismiss: Automatically close after X seconds
- Require Interaction: Keep notification until clicked
- Click Save to apply changes
Note: You must allow browser notifications in your browser settings.
Mobile Push Notifications
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Mobile Push, configure:
- Badge Count: Show unread count on app icon
- Sound: Notification sound on mobile
- Vibration: Vibrate on notifications
- Show Preview: Display message preview
- Click Save to apply changes
Notification Sound
Customize notification sounds.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Notification Sound, configure:
- Enable Sound: Toggle sound on/off
- Volume: Adjust notification volume
- Sound Type: Choose from available sounds
- Different Sounds: Use different sounds for:
- New conversations
- Mentions
- Direct messages
- Urgent conversations
- Click Save to apply changes
Testing Notifications
Test your notification settings to ensure they're working correctly.
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Scroll to Test Notifications
- Click Send Test Notification
- Choose notification type to test
- Verify you receive the notification through your configured channels
Notification Best Practices
- Enable Critical Notifications: Always enable notifications for urgent conversations and mentions
- Use Quiet Hours: Set quiet hours to avoid disruptions outside work hours
- Limit Email Frequency: Use digests instead of real-time emails to reduce inbox clutter
- Test Settings: Regularly test notification settings to ensure they work
- Mobile Optimization: Configure mobile push notifications for on-the-go access
- Security Alerts: Always keep security alerts enabled
